The Parliament, Downtown Inc, Diemo Video and Salvaging Creativity is taking over The Strand-Capital theatre to premiere “George Street Artists” a documentary the follows the nine George Street sculptures, their makers and actual creation.

Salvaging Creativity and Downtown Inc will also be revealing the details for the W. Philadelphia Street Architecture Project, which will include artist open call information for four more sculpture installations!

We know this community is filled with creative makers. Design something for your city.. and build it!

Ralph Real and Unknown will be preforming live, as well as New Hope Academy Music Group The Bucket Brigade.

Refreshments will also be available – including full bar service, snacks, soda, coffee & water.

May First Friday at The Parliament

May_FFpicFriday May 4th – Printmaking event at The Parliament featuring the musical stylings of Strange Birds in the front and the free screen printing by Creek Score in the back. In the middle you will find a gallery of printmaking eye candy, free refreshments and the cool kids.

The gallery will also be open every Saturday from 11:00 – 3:00.

March First Friday at Marketview Arts

Not just another First Friday show, Spring Forward is a celebration of community, emerging artists and fashion coming together for an evening of spring inspiration! The Parliament is bringing together 7 creative community members, 13 artists and 4 downtown merchants for one evening only, First Friday, March 1, 2013. Local art will be paired with models styled in beautiful threads from downtown merchants to reflect the artists’ vision within their pieces. The event will be hosted at Marketview Arts and will include an art exhibit and runway presentation. Models will walk the runway, while brief commentary is provided about each look. Refreshments will be provided before and after the runway presentation. Fashions, makeup, and artwork will all be for sale!
