Art from behind the walls of York County Prison
Auction is Live from Friday, May 5 at 5 p.m. until Sunday, May 7 at 9 p.m.
Creative works made by York County Prison inmates are up for auction and view at the gallery at The Parliament.
The show highlights the positive potential of incarcerated people and promote rehabilitation through the productive expression of ideas. The Parliament supports emerging artists from all walks of life by offering them a place to show and sell their work and by providing various professional resources to guide their careers.
The Parliament donated handkerchiefs, a familiar canvas for those serving time, for prisoners to work with. The works will be auctioned off May 5-7 in an online auction accessible through www.parliamentyork.org/YorkCountyPrison.
Proceeds will be split between the prisoners’ York County Prison Inmate General Welfare Fund and The Parliament.
